Plant Something NH & Pollinator Fair...Description
Join Bedrock Gardens and our friends from Plant Something NH on Saturday, June 2nd from 10 to 2:30 pm as we share pollinator plant baby giveaways compliments of our friends at Van Berkum Nursery, Deerfield, NH.
Make & Take Activity
Families can also enjoy the free New England Native & Wildflower Seed Ball Make & Take activity, co-hosted by NH 4-H and Henniker Helping Hands 4-H Club.
Education Sessions
Plant Something NH steering committee member Jenny Stuart will also be onsite hosting fresh-air educational talks on Native Plants & Pollinators. No pre-registration is required, just join in the pollinator garden at Mast Way School for one the these informative garden walks. Jenny Stuart is owner of The Secret Gardener and holds a degree in Horticulture Technology. She is also a NH Certified Landscape Professional and a current student of the UNH Extension Master Gardener program.
Representatives of the NH Beekeepers and Seacoast Beekeepers Associations will be on hand with honeybee temporary tattoos, and a live observation hive to answer any questions you may have about bees, beekeeping and agriculture.
In addition, members of Slow Food Seacoast and Piscataqua Seed Project will be on hand throughout the day, giving away free heirloom seeds of the "Three Sisters" (New Hampshire varieties of beans, corn and squash) that formed the basis for agriculture in our area for over 1000 years!
Unique plants dug from the magnificent Bedrock Gardens Nursery will also be for sale throughout the day. The mobile Bedrock Gardens Shed Shop will be set up at the fair.
Delicious fresh lunch and refreshment items catered by Mary Vs will be available.
