Funding Options for Social EntrepreneursMichael SwackSocial entrepreneurs often struggle to find investment partners that are aligned with the "blended value" of social/environmental impact and financial return that they seek to create. Dr. Michael Swack, faculty director of the Carsey School's Center on Social Innovation and Finance and an economics professor in the Paul College of Business and Economics, will describe the range of debt, equity, royalty, and philanthropy models appropriate for social enterprises -- including through Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and JOBS Act crowdfunding provisions. Through engaging case studies with NH Social Venture Innovation Challenge contestants, he will explore which approaches may be best suited for different stages of growth, business models, and corporate forms (including nonprofit).Tell a Friend
