Driven to Abstraction Art ExhibitDescription
Art is always subject to individual interpretation but abstract art really challenges people to use their imaginations. This winter, Gallery 6 at the Children’s Museum of NH will feature many pieces of abstract art, encouraging families to talk about what they see in each piece.
The “Driven To Abstraction” exhibit, curated by Tess Feltes, invites viewers to solve the visual puzzles in front of them and decode their messages. Feltes says, “Many people look at artwork and ask themselves, ‘What is this all about?’ It can feel like a guessing game but the fun of abstract art is that your answer is right because it’s what you see, think and feel.” Feltes has also designed activities for viewers to explore their own creativity during the run of the show.
“Driven To Abstraction” runs from November 22, 2014 through March 1, 2015. The regional artists participating in this show are: Barbara Albert, Ross Batchelder, Taintor Child, Eve Corey, Elizabeth Doherty, Soosen Dunholter, Tina Fazio, Roger Goldenberg, Kate Higley, Ethel Hills, Lotus Lein, Alex Smyrnos, Diane Stradling and Pamela Tarbell.
