Description
Join the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 30 years of business for Atlantic Gymnastics Training Center.
On November 4, 1994 Atlantic Gymnastics had their opening day. On the first day of business the Retrosi's had a staff of 8 serving 80 clients. At the end of their first year those numbers jumped to 12 staff with 200 gymnasts. Ten years in, they opened a second location in Dover, bringing their knowledge and skill to a new group here on the Seacoast. Today, Atlantic Gymnastics Training Center has a staff of nearly 40 working with more than 500 students a week at each location. There are staff members who have been with the gym since day one and staff that were once the students in the gym. There are multi-generational gymnasts at the gym who's parents used to be students at the gym.
After 30 years of business more than 20,000 individuals have worked with Atlantic Gymnastics. In addition to countless State, Regional, and National champions, Atlantic Gymnastics Training Center has had a handful of gymnasts compete at International Competitions as well as staff who have been recognized for their professional accomplishments as well.
Owner Toni Retrosi shares, "Of all the gymnasts we have worked with I am most pleased by the number of children we worked with who have gone on to become Doctors, lawyers, teachers, Physical Therapists, Air Force pilots, In general- contributing members of society.I have had a number of former gymnasts I have run into who have told me stories of their life accomplishments. That when they were faced with adversity they thought back at a lesson they learned in the gym. I am incredibly lucky to have been able to work in a sport I love, with a group of people I respect in a situation that teaches not just gymnastics but life lessons."Please join us in celebrating a cornerstone organization in the Greater Dover Community.
