Camino de Santiago Hiking ProgramDescription
Theresa Fersch, who hiked the 500-mile Camino de Santiago in 2015, will be speaking at the Dover Public Library at 7 p.m. on September 28th.
Fersch hiked the entire length from St. Jean Pied-de-Port, France, to Santiago de Compostella, Spain. The Camino pilgrimage has been travelled by pilgrims for over 1,000 years and is said to bring great physical, mental and spiritual growth to all who travel its routes. This grand pilgrimage provides continuous examples of kindness, generosity, friendship, and love. People come together from all over the world to embark on this incredibly challenging journey. The Camino gives people the opportunity to experience life as it is meant to be.
She will provide a brief overview of what a day on the Camino is like as well as a narrative of her own personal experiences along the way.
Fersch has written a book about her hike called “Sunrise in Spain” which is due to be published this month. She may or may not have copies of this book for sale at the talk, or will have a signup sheet if people would like to be notified when it becomes available if copies of the book aren’t available the evening of the talk.
For more information about her adventure, visit her blog at theresascamino.wordpress.com.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information call the Library at 603-516-6050. Library hours are Monday-Wednesday 9am-8:30pm, Thursday-Friday 9am-5:30pm, Saturdays 9am-5pm and Sundays 1pm-5pm.Tell a Friend
